Something where we can add taggs and search, midi map the controls and have a "send to channel 1" and "send to channel 2" button.

Didn't Moldover make a M4L patch for this?
I can't seem to find it but I thought I read about in the last couple months
Maybe someone else will be able to shed more light on this.

Is this what you were referring to? not quite what we're looking for but it is definitely useful for those who create "mega-sets"

Yeah That's it Thanks TYLR!
Your set opening for Eskmo/Andreilien was awesome by the way

I think I understand better
I was hoping this max patch would drop the clips for the particular song
In L7 I can make a clip pack (Multiple Clips saved into the browser to where you can drag in one icon and it'll bring in all clips that make up that song.) In practice this has some draw backs like it only brings clips in the track order they were saved which means if your new set has different track set-up that the clip pack it's not that useful. with some foresight and set-up It can be very helpful
Personally I use multiple libraries in iTunes. One library for Loops etc.....
I really like doing this as I can make playlists and group samples into folders without doubling the size of Library. Listening is and drag and dropping is easy but it doesn't do Clip Packs.
Wouldn't it be so dope to make an Itunes for Ableton! That specifically is made for all the above. It'd be so cool.

Oh what up dude! My brain didn't connect your username to who you were, thanks man.
I definitely use clip packs, so if there came to be some kind of awesome M4L browser I would want to be able to drag and drop wavs, clips, and live sets (clip packs) all from the same browser, with the option of sorting them together AND separately..
I'm also using iTunes for my DJ library but I have to use Live's browser for my originals which are all clip packs or live clips. Sometimes I have the mastered versions of my tracks loaded into iTunes so that when I come across it while searching for my next track I can go "oh wait, there is a clip pack for that!" but it is a bit of a pain and waste of time to then go and find that track in my clip packs folder
Not a huge deal but the funny thing is I've been called out by various people who glance over at my screen and only see iTunes running.. then I have to show them how boss my live set really is and make them feel like fools for trying to hate on me.

I know it's risky but I've been getting away with drag'n'drop from iTunes and even drag'n'dropping clip packs (5x5 or even 5x8) in the middle of sets and it hasn't affected playback.. I would love it if Live implemented something that would allow us to do this in a safer way though

Probably better if some M4L enthusiast wants to build it, ask me, and I'll tell them how the database / javascript part works.
My Max skills are not good enough to be cost effective in a time/money calculation on project completion. In fact my max skills are pretty much non existent.
It needs solidly specifying, I did a wireframe in evolus Pencil and a rough time calc on that. Then I remembered that I'm meant to be simplifying my life, not adding new projects. I have a big personal project on the go right now and if I split my time it will suffer. I'm too old and stupid to multi-task on projects effectively.
I should probably say that I was asked (by Ableton) to stop digging around in their database and commenting on it, so I haven't put the information relating to the library/ browser out publicly anywhere. I probably will get some heat for this post.

i would think there is a long list of people who are interested in this...
I'd be willing to pay if someone's willing to Max.
