Can't save warping of samples

I was watching some tutorials online and discovered that is is possible to save the warping on songs once it is completed. However, when I click the save button, it lights up yellow, then goes gray again, and doesn't save. Any idea why this is and/or how to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Consolidate, freeze flatten before saving maybe

I'd avoid the consolidate/freeze method. I doubt that actually solves the problem and probably would make things more messy on your hard drive (and potentially reduce audio quality in the long run)
So what you are saying is that, after you hit Save, when you drag a new instance of the warped track into Session View, it has no longer retained the warp settings you have made?

No. When i click the save button, it goes yellow, then immediately goes back to gray. I've just been dragging the tracks into ableton from iTunes, then warping them. I just realized is it possible that bringing them in from iTunes could potentially be why I can't save? Not sure why that would be so. But I'm just trying to explore multiple avenues as to what it could be...

When I save my warping, it does the same thing. Yellow, then gray. Then the warping is saved, associated with the track.
After I've done that, the next time I drag that clip into Live, the clip will already be warped the way I had it when I last pressed Save.
Are you expecting a box to pop up of something?
Another way to save warps is to drag a clip into the Live browser. That actually saves it as a Clip, which will include channel settings and stuff.
When you hit Save for a clip, it just saves data with the Live file associated with that clip (small ones appear inside the folder of the audio file so that you can save info without affecting the file itself)

From what I've seen, it's supposed to create another file with the same name that contains the warp data, but my computer does not.

have you tired it with an mp3 that isn't from iTunes?

Um...consolidating saves your warp settings to the MP3. Set your warp markers and then consolidate and there ya go.

I had the same issue, though this is a pretty old thread I found i have to crop the sample a tiny bit with no warping, then it worked as usual and save button returned. I pretty much just zoomed in extra far and nudged start or end to zero a crossing then cropped and works again, i dunno why. Pain in the butt, I will have to do this with my whole live 8 library?
Actually I was wrong it still doesn't work, the save button returns but after i save the markers do not load from that sample when droppped on a project again, and the save is greyed again. I can't believe I didn't notice this, I just haven't gone through my old 8 library in soo long that I hadn't noticed. Redoing all the markers on stuff like long strings of drum loops from a sample library is a total nightmare! I now have like 10 gigs of my best loops locked out of live cuz the markers wont load!!!!!!!!!
FIXXXXX MEWEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
