Survey? Really?

Release notes for 8.4.1 states: "Added user satisfaction survey. After several hours of usage, Live will ask you to rate the software."
I'm not understanding how someone thought this was a good idea. I assume this is not restricted to a demo version. If this is the case then someone at Ableton is hoping to get a good (honest) feedback after interrupting my use of the paid for software with a survey?

i don't get that either, they already have your email address, couldn't they just email you the survey. if this was a 99 cent app on itunes i could understand (even though that's also annoying).

I was not impressed with that, not at all. It seems like the sort of crap I see in a free iOS app.
it indicates a very unusual idea of their user base . What were they thinking? : "I'm sure our users on stage/ in session/ in a studio won't mind a pop up window and a quick Q.A. session"
It seems very amateurish, insulting even.
If they want information, just send us an email linking to a web survey FFS

I agree with posters above I do not want to see this every time I have to download a update.

If this is not a part of any of the 9.xx.xx releases then I am definitely insulted.

it pops every session or just ONE?
Because I really doubt it pops more than once.

I'm sure Ableton appreciates your feedback.
it's pretty funny to not be an early adopter for once and seeing the growing pains.
it speaks to how much they value this forum as a source of feedback. nothing wrong with negative feedback, it's the positive feedback that makes things blow up.

First off I can't answer that question. I never update my current version if I am not having problems.
With that said I'm sure I'm overreacting a bit. But having that in version 8 only, and asking in the app and not via email or some other route really gave me that same feeling I got when they said their loyalty discount would last for one week. Just a bit of a slight is all. I mean why not put the survey in 9 months ago when some alpha testing and possibly beta testing was happening? Why only in an 8 update?
I didn't upgrade yet because I didn't think what they had to offer was worth the price. That's how capitalism works. I don't have to think something is wrong to come to that conclusion.

And before someone gets the wrong impression... I see many improvements in Live 9. I can also see why some would be excited about those improvements. I didn't start this thread to bash 9..

Ableton wants to know why Live 8 users haven't upgraded. Cost? Features? "Bitwig?"
I'm guessing that's the main point of the survey, even if they include questions on other topics.

Bug fixes seem minimal for 8.4.1.
I will not be going from 8.4 to 8.4.1 to participate in a stupid survey pop up.
