m4l SessionLooper: synchronized looping without Quantization

Hey, I've just released SessionLooper.
It lets you do multi-tracks synchronized live looping within the Session View, without the need of a boring metronome and/or Global Quantization. If you really want to use Global quantization, it's ok, this device won't harm you. It will just deal with your quantization setting, and makes life (even more) easier for you, lazy animals.
Kind of like some Live's Looper device looping options, but with independent control over each take.
Basically, SessionLooper works like this:
-You record a loop, live, by playing something, yeah!
-The clip's length becomes the "reference" length for the next clip.
-You freely start the recording of a new clip in a new track with one click, and the device will automatically stop the recording and launch the loop for you.
-This new clip's length becomes the new "reference"…
- go to the next track, one click, a new loop… make music/noise.

It's really simple, and powerful.

killer work!

I haven't bought it yet, because I built my own device that pretty much does this already,
nevertheless,

i just had a look at the video, this looks great !
I'd personally add a few things, like navigate through tracks and clips, delete clip, add/remove track, etc...
Any chance i could do these changes after i bought the device ? i have no idea on how you can 'protect' such a device so it cannot be edited. Anyway, it gave me some nice ideas !

Yeah Chapelier, suggestions are welcome.
This device actually is a small part of a big patch which I use to control Live (with a session, and a arrangement mode), that is on my master channel and default set.
And I did remove things from what I've originally planned for the device, because I realized that I need to make it work for everyone without dictating my personnal ideal workflow. There's a lot of different ways to navigate through tracks while your live looping, one may use arrows, one may have tracks midi mapped to a foot pedal, another one may select tracks with an apc/monome/push whatever... One may create new tracks through keyboard shortcuts, or midi with an other m4l patch, others (like you I guess) might like to have a limited number of tracks for their whole set... Some use the auto-arm option, some don't and that adds steps in the looping process.
So I had to make it simple and adaptable for everyone
But, yeah I'm completely ok to add things if people discuss it, keeping in mind that:
-the device should be simple enough to not to have to look at it
-it should be used for live looping
-playing with it should feel natural and not becoming a headache
And, people who bought the device will have free update if any. (and the one I've sent you is the full device, so you can keep your money. And you can do everything you want with it, it's not protected; the "demo" device is not protected either, it just deletes itself after some time, and the "hack" is easily killable for people who have a little max knowledge).
Cheers.

(thanks JuanSOLO)

Adding delete clip, and undo would be really useful, and easy to do.
Thing is, I usually like that kind of functionality on a shift+ kind of thing.

For example on my APC40, shift+clip deletes it.

I agree though, keeping patches simple to share is the way to go, then people can edit them as needed.

This looks ideal for me.Im looping with mainly acoustic instruments - guitar, fiddle etc,so I'd love to see a "delete clip" button to use via footswtich.
How would an "undo" be different from "delete clip" in clip recording?

Just to be clear - the clip length is based on the currently selected clip.Do I have to use the device to select the next clip?
ie - What happens if I select a clip using, say, the up/down arrows?Does the device reset,or does it remember the previous loop length?

Also,do you have a paypal account instead of credit card?
Just that it would be easier for me.

Thanks.

No you don't have to use the device to select the next clip. The device sets the length of the coming loop based on the lenght of the selected clip (that way you just go to the next track and launch the record, no need to go to the computer).
Have you download the demo device on my website? I think you'll have a better idea of what you can and can't do with it.
I have a paypal, just drop me a line from the contact form on my website (or here by mp) and I'll give you my account id.
Cheers.
