Getting back to pad sensitivity I am not pleased by the response I get trying to play any piano patch. I cannot play it normally I have to hit the pads too hard and find myself concentrating more on the touch as opposed to writing, playing… Watching any of that YouTube videos of people playing piano I do not have this experience.

Holding down the user button I have my Pad sensitivity set at -15 and fluctuate to -10 with pretty much the same response.
I have the velocity curve Log currently set at the default one. I was wondering what other users have these settings at?

Change it to 3 or 5 rather than 1

1 is way too non-sensitive

Pad sensitivity is the threshold for the pad actually firing, but it has zero bearing on velocity

Velocity Curve changes how hard you have to hit it to get higher velocities

Higher curve (i.e. 4 or 5), I find it hard NOT to hit at or near 127

I don't know if it's been me or fine tuning the pads and breaking in.
I've been concerned if it is at all faulty and worrying to much about not being able to return it.
I really enjoy the studio addition and was wondering if a lot of people are having the same "initial" getting acclimated period..

I've been waiting to see if SuburbanThug upgrades, he and I have been going back and forth on here cause he posted a video where his Push plays like a dream.......It's like too good to be true!

He use 9.0.1 Suite 30 day Demo.....I'm so curious to see if he upgraded to the full Suite if his pad start acting like this too.....Obviously he's not try to have less sensitivity so he's holding out ....

I've always been curious about something.

When you change the velocity curve of a device, it basically stops using variances of everything above a threshold and it all reads pretty much max.

I've always wondered if, due to that it uses Up degrees of the velocity resolution.

Where, with a straight line, you'd assume that there are all 1-127 steps available as velocity hits.

When you make the curve steeper, does it make for less points available in the 127 potential hits? So that it only climbs a ladder of say, 50 possible velocity amounts instead of 127?

Or, is the resolution of a midi device much finer than 127, and it uses the curve in conjunction with the possible velocity degrees and kind of, accommodates?

I'd imagine it is probably the first. But I'd also imagine that it probably isn't a huge deal.

theres way more values coming out of the pad than can be expressed in midi. in flockeds m4l patches you can see that.
