No, seriously, point me to precisely which policies caused these riots.myrnova wrote:They call it "social-liberism" (see Tony Blair): they say "we are leftish", but at the end of the story it is rightish moderate capitalism, introducing social inequalities and poverty.

... unless you think the cuts in social security, social assistance and in benefits to unemployed people are something "socialist" and the riots in Stokholm have been caused because immigrants living there are evil, lazy, bad and ugly?Jack McOck wrote:So you're saying that you can't pin-point one evil capitalist policy to back up your claim...?myrnova wrote:read the newspaper, mate...

APPLE was able to exist and grow in the US because of benefits derived in the US by way of education programs, loan programs, subsidy programs, technology and infrastructure investments, etc. Had they tried to grow this company in Afghanistan, they would not have had equal success. As a result, they owe their success in a large part to being able to have started this company in the US. It's part of the social contract. They benefited from that social contract - now they don't want to participate in the social contract any longer since they no longer have to depend on it to achieve their success.Jack McOck wrote:Companies that people are willingly giving (a shit load of) their money to are being harassed by a state from which people would like to withhold every cent. And this is supposed to be seen as a good thing?
Go Apple, go!

Many of the revolutionary technologies that make the iPhone and other products and services "smart" were funded by the U.S. government. Take, for instance, the Internet, GPS, touchscreen display, as well as the latest voice-activated personal assistant, Siri. And Apple did not just benefit from government-funded research activities. It also received its early stage finance from the U.S. government's Small Business Investment Company program.
Venture capitalists entered only after government funding had gotten the company to the critical proof of concept.

It's true, the government created everything, then private companies came and leached off it.Vivo wrote: APPLE was able to exist and grow in the US because of benefits derived in the US by way of education programs, loan programs, subsidy programs, technology and infrastructure investments, etc. Had they tried to grow this company in Afghanistan, they would not have had equal success. There comes a point when failure to use force is immoral. Your argument, Bean Machine, that any use of force is immoral is a False Dichotomy. Look it up.
