so every time I update I have to remember what and where all the scripts I imported are, and then reinstall them? Whatever happened to non-destructive updating?

My experience is that each new version copies them from the old one.

When I updated to 9.04 I lost velocity sensitive drum rack in push.

MIDI remote scripts definitely get copied with updates, so perhaps you have uncovered a bug. Ai suggest reporting the phenomenon to Ableton support.
