Ableton Forum

hi everyone
could someone give me a quick guide to installing plugins? I have one on my computer that shows up in Live's plugin section as a file (GSnap) but i cant drag it into the track or anywhere at all...what am i doing wrong?

Nothing happens when you double-click it? And you can't drag it onto a midi track?

The only other thing I can think of is that, since it's an effect plugin, maybe you can only add it after already existing audio/midi?

I'm new to Ableton myself, so sorry if I'm not helpful.
