Hi,
Has anyone here completed the Berklee online course 'Advanced Music Production with Ableton Live'?
I spent ages yesterday reading through old posts on Berklee and other online courses and can see many of you recommend saving money and just using Macprovideo, Sonic Academy, Groove 3 etc. However, I have spent my life teaching myself anything and everything from electrical engineering to Logic and would like to, for once, sign up for a structured course. I had ADHD as a child (probably still do!) so I would really benefit from some structure and focus, I think this will be the best way to get me up to speed quickly and efficiently.
If anyonw has done the above course, or perhaps similar with Dubspot, Point Blank etc, I would really really appreciate your feedback!!
Many thanks
Sian

I haven't done a formal course, but you might be interested to know that Berklee do a free online course. Google Berklee and Coursera to find out more

I had a look at Berklee but found them very expensive. If I remember the ableton course was around $1,400 about £900.
Live-courses.com is cheaper £200+ for both courses,
None of the courses give you authorise certificate just their own which are not worth much. One day Ableton may get their act together and organise a cert day, in the end I pumped for $10 course off eBay.

I took some courses at Berklee online, I was dissappointed in the lack of contextual material and the lack of advanced techniques. Never was is mentioned in a productions course about arrangement, workflow or the techniques sound design...
I had two classes on was Music production (in another DAW) and Midi for music.. or something like that.. I am still paying for it.. lol.

i searched a lot the whole web for realy quality content, because you find a lot of bad content and newbie stuff! after that i decided to give a try at
http://quantizecourses.com/ . in few words: best investment i've ever done in music production! i asked me why other tracks sounded so much more professional. quantize courses showed me why. the focus is not how to use ableton. if you want to know how to use ableton just read the manual. the focus at quantize courses is how to make professional hi-quality music WITH ableton.
the 8 weeks course combined with the personalized feedback videos was the perfect combination for me.
i know how this sounds...i'm not payed for that what i'm talking here because i hate this promoting stuff like you...go to the fan page (
https://www.facebook.com/QuantizeCourses) read other testimonials and convince yourself!
happy producing!

I can also vouch for Quantize courses. The class I took really set me on the right course to start finishing songs in Live. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much for your feedback guys. Can I ask, when you did the Quantize course, were you relatively new to music production or Ableton? I've been messing around with Logic for years so am by no means new to production, but I am new to Ableton and electronic production.
Many thanks

It was January 2013.
In my opinion the content is advanced but the tutor explains the steps very clear and detailed - so following the stuff is absolutly no problem at all and also for ableton newbies a good step forward. Then you have weekly personalized videos which are made just for your level of skill. But even when it's not all clear you can email then tutor and you get answer very quickly.
When you are an advanced user in logic, in my opinion, i see absolutly no problem. The techniques are mostly the same just in different places in the software.

plus one for quantize. i was a noob but learn quickly, love learning, so it was perfect. big shock to the system putting in major hours doing difficult things but the tutor keith is amazing, tailors feedback to your level. like others have said, its different to cdm, more structured for better work flow imo
