Ableton Live 9 Suite wants to make changes -after M Lion upd

Just updated from SL to ML and am now getting this somewhat irritating message on starting Live 9 (or 9 beta)

I verified permissions on the Mac disk (but couldn't see this option on my ext HDD with library and music on it).

Message is "Ableton Live Suite wants to make changes - type password to allow this - doesn't matter if I do or click cancel, Live starts up ok.

This doesn't happen with Suite 8 (both are 64bit). EDIT: Yes it does - both 8 & 9

I'd be grateful for any advice.

This seems to have gone away on it's own. Today - no message. Sunday - message.. Ah well.

This still happens to me every time I switch between Ableton 9 and Ableton 8 (DJ template works best in 8). Does anyone know what it is that is getting changed? Something in the library? Just curious. It doesn't seem to harm anything but it is weird. . . -JD

Check that your user has write permission to your Temp and Cache dirs.

Not solved for me in Ableton Live 9.7 Suite, I get this pop up every time in OS 10.12.3 Sierra. I have removed it from my keychain and deleted preferences and after every restart it asks me for this before I can open Ableton.
