Did you make a wav version? How did you make the 320kbps?

If you're on a PC, I recommend WinFF application, http://winff.org/. It's free video and audio converter program with a GUI front end and uses ffmpeg. It can convert most common audio and video formats (mp3, ogg, flac, mp4, avi, etc) easily with predefined templates/presets. Hope this helps.

I bounced all stems
To .wav and mastered the file and then bounced that again. I opened it in iTunes and converted
To mp3 which have me the 320

Okay hey tarekith I just realized that when I post from my
Phone it posts as QUANCE, but when I post from my
Computer it's from devinschumacher --- this is the same
Person.... Sorry for the confusion.

Anyways like I said earlier I audio bounced my midi. Then took that .wav file and mastered it. Renounced and converted to mp3 on iTunes. But now I need the version also in 128..... Best way for that?

Doesn't iTunes offer a selection of bit rates?

How about going via GarageBand?

Yeah, dig around in the settings in iTunes. You should be able to set it to convert to 128 instead if 320

Exactly, take the wav you mastered, and change iTunes to convert it to 320kbps. Or you can use the Max app from sbooth.org.

Thanks guys -- the reason in asking is that I need to send the file to someone but he can only accept
It @ 10mbs or under. Currently at 320kbps it is 21mbs ..... I'm assuming this is the only way to shrink the size right? Even though I lose quality...... If I'm wrong about that please let
Me Know! Thanks

Hey Q, as suggested above -- Just like you made your 320 kbps file, you can do the same thing -- Use iTunes to create a 196 from your original .wav master the exact same way. You can change the bitrate iTunes exports at in the preferences screen, under "Import Settings" -- Go under 'Import Using' and set to MP3, and then under the 'Setting' menu you can either select 192, or set a custom bitrate. Take note, there is a pretty big difference between 320 and 128! You should at least try 192 before you do 128.

The other thing -- is there a particular reason he can only accept under 10 MB? If it's strictly an email attachment limitation, you should try to find a better way. If it's because you are submitting it to a label or something that requires your file to be tiny like that, they are crazy.

Also, Soundcloud perhaps?

Don't you know We Transfer? (wetransfer dot com)

You can sent 2 gigs files to anybody's e-mail, the recipient gets a download link.

The 10mb limit was for an online contest....i dunno why they limited it to 10mbps....even normal length songs (5min ish) can be over 10mb... but for whatever reason that was their guidelines. I used the itunes method to bounce it to 128 -- hopefully it doesnt sound too crappy when they listen to it!

You can try AppGeeker. It has conversion program works really well converting to multiple audio/video file formats.

Never had a problem with it.
