El cheapo: try to find some of the old Tandy/radio shack ones on eBay, they were the same as the original Crown PZMs. You can adapt them: connect with a 9v battery and an XLR connector.

i love the cascade fat head (have 4 of them), get one if you can but it's not a boundry, it's a ribbon, totally different beast.
i have a radio shack boundry one (marked realistic) that does a good job, great at dirty drums with one mic.
crown are very good and natural sounding but expensive.
