so i was listening to a really good remix of Vocab by the Fugees on the way to work today... and Lauren Hill's verse is unreal on it... it made me think... besides her, i can't recall any female rappers that don't suck. am i forgetting someone?

MC Lyte for her time was great. Definitely needs to be on the top of the list.
Da Brat was also nice.
Missy Elliot had a real unique flow.
Nikki now is better than many other modern mainstream artists male or female. Her style is kind of like a mix of Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, and Missy Elliot.

Larynn Hill as many said is also great.

the problem with Missy Elliot, Little Kim, and such is that they get too caught up in all that Thug Life shit and forget to have soul for entire verses and/or tracks. it makes it hard to believe that they're not just trying to out thug the boys.
