You need to be more specific. What exactly are you doing when you are "trying to get rewire working"? What exactly is happening when you "can't"?
You should be aware that BOTH Reason and Live need to be 32 bit (on a 32 bit system) or 64 bit (on a 64 bit system). They won't work if one is 32 and the other is 64.

You need to use the 32 bit version of Live 9. Then it might work. Also note that you have to start Live first.

if they are both 64 bit it should work perfectly fine. I beta tested Live 9 but did not buy and rewire worked just fine with Reason 6.5 and Live 9 64 bit beta. I just opened Live then opened Reason and got the external instrument going. Upgrade that copy of Reason OP you will get a lot of great new things with it. Namely Thor which imo is one of the most powerful synths available. I own Komplete 9, owned Diva and Sylenth 1 and in many cases would take Thor over both not every case but many.

Hi All,
I found a solution hopefully this works for everyone!
I am running Live 8 and Reason 7 on a Mac and OS Lion and after upgrading to Reason 7 I couldn't get Live to work using Rewire
It is because Reason 7 by default runs on 64bit whereas Ableton 8 Runs at 32bit - Both the Master and the Slave need to run at the same bit rate for Rewire to work.
Solution:
First go to the Reason 7 icon in your applications
Right click then select "get info"
A menu will appear now select "open in 32 bit mode"
Now make sure Reason and Ableton are fully closed (including quitting in the dock)
Now start Ableton First, then start Reason after Ableton has loaded
Worked for me hope it works for you also!

Yeah that's what I said in the second post, back in 2013.

if you can run 64 bit why not run both at 64 bit
