And there are some cool conspiracy theories around it, one being that it's ableton releasing some competition with some features they dont have to see if itl be a flop

It looks so stupidly like Live it's making my brain hurt. It'll have a ton of things that are an improvement over Live I'm sure but I wonder if their Hybrid Audio/MIDI track really mean that you'll be able to route things any way you want with ease.

Oh... and it seems they've even gone for that utterly retarded navigation system of clicking on a tiny bar at the top of a clip... give the user DECENT NAVIGATION CONTROLS FERCHRISSAKE. and that goes for you too Ableton.

I am generally positive about Bitwig

But every time I see a youtube clip about it my confidence plummets.

It's that Klaus. He always looks so supremely uptight.

Like he's scared the software is going to fall over next time he presses a button.

Or like he's just had a call from their bankers saying they are shutting the thing down.

Or like he suspects Marcellus Wallace is on his trail.

Very strange.

I don't get that at all. Seems to me
Like he's eager to answer any questions and go theough the program.
Gotta agree about the bad interviewing though, like
"Is that a native synth?"
"It is!"
"Fuck that, how does it handle vsts?"

Hoping for late july/early august

Maybe after that some bitching is justified.
Not like being a little late on a program release never happened...

I don't see how anyone could actually think it was an "interview"...

He was clearly struggling to translate his thoughts into English before he spoke too. I certainly couldn't ask questions about a DAW, using another language...

Good point. I wouldn't want to be interviewed in German...

I wonder if he would, as he's Swedish.

To me this is what a normal person looks like on camera. He's just translating from coder to human
;)

How do you think their plugins and instruments will do? Copied from just other daw's or will it have it's own sound... If it does you think it'll be a good sound?

I'll say it again, the only thing that intrigues me about this thing is the modular environment that they say won't even be in version 1.

I think a new company that hasn’t released anything ever will shoot for a solid mediocre sound and we can conclude they’ll succeed at that based on their track record that doesn’t exist yet.
