so i have an intro sound that i made with studio one and its bpm is 120. i have even double checked the bpm by throwing it into a bpm analyzer i have. it also reads 120 dead on. however, when i throw the clip into ableton, the tempo automatically changes to 106.67? Please help Im trying to make this into a full song.

Just manually change the tempo to 120 then, easy enough :)

What exactly is an "intro sound"?

You mean when you "throw it" into Live. Ableton is the company, not the software.

Is that a statement or a question? <--- that's a question.

My guess is that this "intro sound" is not an exact bar length, so Live is estimating the BPM based on it being a "correct" length.

its both lol i dont understand why its changing the tempo its a clip i took from start to finsih that was on a 120 bpm metronome and live just keeps changing it.

So how many bars of 120bpm is it?

One bar of 4/4 at 120bpm should be two seconds long. Two bars should be four seconds and so on.

If it's not an exact multiple of the above then it's either shorter or longer than an exact amount of bars, which is why Live is unable to figure it out.

From the tempo you mentioned earlier (106.67) I'd say your clip is 2.24s long (one bar) or 4.48s (two bars).

Change the clip BPM and the master BPM to 120.

Or turn warping off on the clip and it will play at its original speed despite the master BPM.
