Loving Live 9! I have recorded a violin part but want to drop it down an octave (to simulate a viola. I want to retain the timbre of my recorded instrument so converting the track into midi would not help. I did look in the manual but could not find an answer. Maybe I could turn my recorded track into an audio clip? and then use the transpose knob. Bit of a newbie but a keen learner. Really appreciate any help

if its midi: select all notes in your clip, shift-arrow-down will transpose your midi clip one ocateve lower.

if it's audio: use the transpose knob in the clip-properties. be aware of sound-degradation, eventually change warp mode to the best sounding option.

Arbita - you don't know until you try! Record it as audio, transpose it, then select the Complex Pro warp mode. Between the 2 parameters for that mode you should have some control over the timbre, between soft and sharper sounding. It's more apparent with extreme transpositions.

Thanks all. I just discovered something. My frustration was that I could not get an audio clip dialog box to appear. I then discovered, by chance, that I had to rename the track in the MIXER Section as well. As soon as I did that VOILA the dialog box opened. Thankyou all so much

Huh? You shouldn't have had to do any of that. Adjust it in the clip properties like someone already mentioned here in the thread. Double click the clip in the track and it should show you the clip and all the options to mess around with it down at the bottom of the screen.
