Arturia 49 Analog Experience The Laboratory & Live - Help!!

Hello

I just recently got an Arturia 49 Analog Experience The Laboratory(!) and am trying to set it up to work in Live 9.0.3 but not having a huge amount of luck.

The presets selection dials on the keyboard don't work at all (though they do in the standalone software) and I'd like to have the transport buttons work in Live but can't seem to get that working either. I did try the Custom Script that's in the Forum but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone have any experience setting this up? Care to share the Knowledge?

Many thanks!!

Dom

i had this same problem a year ago, i looked all over the Arturia forums for this... One guy said that an Arturia support guy admitted that these are problems they are still working on for a future update... very annoying and for what its worth ive seen the Analog Lab vst act quite buggy in Live, i stopped using the vst altogether and mostly use Diva for such sounds (which blows away arturia's synths imo)

Yeah, I'm not having much joy to be honest. I downloaded the new Lab VST but it suffers from bugs also, mainly crashing and the preset browser knobs not working.

Really frustrating, looks like it might have to go back to the shop as it kinda useless. I could have saved myself a bit of cash and just gotten a cheaper controller with no software.

Will take a look at the recco you give. Sounds promising (pun intended!)

I'm getting lots of crashes as well. I haven't made much progress with it, but I'm a newbie in general with this kind of stuff as I'm mostly a guitar player. It crashes less if I open Live Sets that use the Laboratory VST with the keyboard controller turned off. Then I turn the keyboard controller back on.

I have been able to assign remote function for editing parameters to the controller's control knobs as described in section 26.1.2 Manual Control Surface Setup. This was prior to getting my Laboratory s/w activated. I'm hoping that it will be natively supported via Instant Mappings now that the Laboratory s/w is activated, but I haven't checked that yet.

Obviously, I haven't got into much depth yet.

I ended up returning the controller and getting my money back. I think the controller itself (the hardware) is really well built. It's just let down badly with the software. Has put me off Arturia in general.

Shame.

Agreed. I came very close to returning it as I also had difficulty with their registration/activation process. I'm still tempted to return it but I like the hardware part of it.

I hardly ever use the Arturia software. For one, I really resent any software that forces you to use a dongle that takes up a usb slot to run software on a different computer. 2 - I already own a couple of analogue synths, so I'm lucky there I guess. I do like the controller however, very solidly built and bang for buck I have not found a keyboard controller with velocity & aftertouch anywhere near the price even ignoring the software component.

Check it out: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/smf/in ... 1#msg17511

This page has a list of solutions to common problems with Arturia stuff. Do a search for 'transport' and you'll find your answer to that as well. I've been using my Lab49 for almost 2 years now in Live without a problem. My favorite controller so far. Too bad I hate Arturia's software so much...

edit: by actually reading more than the OP, I can see that you've returned the board already. Damn shame. It works fine, just takes a few minutes of tweaking.

I agree, it is a great hardware controller, but part of the purchase was to get the software. Maybe if I need a controller in the future I might take another look.

I did try configuring the other aspects to it but (to be honest) I wanted something a bit more plug and play.

I'll hold out for Push I think...

Hi, fingers crossed someone from this thread is still active, does anyone have a reupload link for this remote script? I can't find it anywhere else.

Thanks!
