Hi folks,
What I am looking for is:
knobs that auto map to the first 8 knobs of a device
faders
scene launch
transport
What I don't really need is:
keys
pads
clip launch
Any suggestion?
Ken

You will have to map as there is nothing like that. Using user remote scripts you can get the automap for devices and probably scene launch.
Livid instruments Alias 8 could be an starting point. You could also built it yourself with livid components.
Other option will be to get one which is supported with mapease by
www.nativekontrol.com so you are able to set any custom map easily.

Novation remote Zero is pretty badass. With that you get to read what parameters your 8 knobs are controlling.
Otherwise, as was suggested, those livid options.
Or a good old fashioned uc33e if you can find one anywhere (you can't have mine)
Edit: oops, I don't know how I forgot the Korg nanokontrol series. But that too. ('Cheapest' option)

i like the apc 40. its simple, easy to use. might have a few extra features you don't need...but, the apc knobs map to device control macros. its got faders, scene launch, transport.
