Sound card advice for Use with Live 9 and Access Virus Ti

Hi,

I would like to upgrade my audio interface and I've had variable success using the Virus Ti as my main sound card and problems using the Ti with my old Audio 1814 my way of lots of computer 'chatter' coming through my monitors.

Can anyone suggest a really good, solid, low latency external soundcard which they are using with a Mac and Virus Ti. My sequencer of choice right now is Live 9.

I've tried an RME Fireface in the past which worked a treat but they're pricey and I don't really need the pre amps as I'm not recording external instruments apart from occasional vocals.

Many thanks.

Question about the "chatter" ... If your system is a laptop, does the chatter disappear if you run on batteries (just as a test)?

I've recently bought a Virus TI Polar (and love it) however I am using my Apollo Quad as my primary audio interface. I intend to use the Virus TI Polar as my combined audio interface / controller / hard-synth as my minimal mobile set up for music making missions in Cafes.

Hi,

Sorry about late reply.

I haven't used the virus with my current laptop but it definitely used to make a difference what my laptop was plugged in to and where with my last one.

I think you'll be fine to use the Virus in the way you describe. I think its a case of adding too much into the system and then you start getting strange noises. Simple is good!

Music making missions in Cafes sounds interesting- theres an album title right there anyway!
