question about triggering samples

ok, i know this question is going to make me seem dumb.. but here it is, when i trigger a sample there is always a slight pause befroe the sound plays. this always happens, i know there is no silence before the sample and when i trigger the sample the play button lights up immediatley but there is still a pause.

ok, so someone please tell me whats going on. i have a feeling its going to be a one click fix that i have been overlooking.

edit: yup it's official.. i'm not good with live (yet). i just figured out my problem.. i had the quantization set which caused the pause. it actually took 2 mouse clicks to fix my problem.

i do have another question so this thread isn't completley worthless. is there a setting that makes newly loaded tracks have the quantization option set to none? i want to trigger my samples quickly and am confident i can do it on time without the aid of quantization and having to turn off the quantization feature for every sample i load seems a bit tedious. so let me know if there is something i can do to change this default.

You can change the defaults in prefs... Save them as your template...

You can also specify a value for individual clips on the left of the clip window.
