I'm taking the leap into Live and am looking to purchase it in Canada or the U.S. if the exchange makes it worthwhile. Suggestions for best price much appreciated.

I see you're in BC. If you're in the interior, cross the border into Alberta. The lack of sales tax is worth the expense of gas.
If you were a dishonest person in Vancouver, you could jump across the border, pick it up in Washington, and then not declare it when you crossed back, saving GST, provincial sales tax and getting a wicked US exchange right now considering how weak the US dollar is.
Of course that would be illegal and I do not condone that sort of beaviour.
Last option is go online to musiciansfriend.com or other music retail websites from the United States, print out the webpage with Ableton Live 4, and then take that sheet into Long & McQuade and say "Hey amigo, I can get this online for peanuts plus a minor delivery fee... Cut me a deal?
