Ableton Forum

In one set that I am working on when I select a clip and then press play then stop playback the clip is deselected so I cannot edit it. Very frustrating!

In another set when I do the same thing the clip remains selected, even when the play position is not on the clip.

Is this a behaviour preference that I cannot find, or is the first set buggy?

Thanks for the reply, so this is not standard Ableton behaviour then? I have a fair amount of experience with Cubase, Logic and ProTools, but I am a Noob with Ableton.

Finally figured this out - it was a glitch with my M4L patch - misuse of API essentially. Thanks for your help!
