Graphical Pitch Correction

Dear Ableton,

I just upgraded to Live 9 and am rejoicing over the enhancements--Session automation, MIDI transform tools, improved media browser, additional keyboard shortcuts, better USB device recognition (no more USB Audio Device 1, 2, 3, etc.), and (drum roll, please) ALL STILL AVAILABLE ON WINDOWS XP!! And now I hear that 9.1 will support dual monitors. Love it! Thank you.

As I begin to plan my vocal parts, I am considering purchasing Auto-Tune (because I need it!). But I've noticed that other DAWS,(e.g., Cubase and Logic) are handling graphical pitch correction natively and much in the same manner as Auto-Tune, Melodyne or Waves Tune. Considering Live's warping engine and audio-to-MIDI capabilities, it seems to me that graphical pitch correction would be a logical (and most welcome) feature in a future Live release. I would love to see it in a 9.x update but understand that it may require more time to develop.

Anyway, I love your software! Keep up the great work!

Blessings,

Bryan

I agree with you. I made a similar request incorporating pitch technology in a chromatic tuner device.

As a melodyne owner I'd appreciate ARA support.

I get by at the moment by resampling the output of the plugin into a new track and clip but it's not very elegant

+1. It seems odd that it's omitted, actually. :)

posted this many years ago before 6 or 7th version but still not there. To me it is pretty nonsense. Implementing this would be the biggest upgrade since 4th version

This the only *major* feature missing in ableton now.

Having reached version 10 now, is there really so little interest in DAW native pitch correction?

It would be wonderful if Ableton teamed up with Melodyne. Oh dreams ...

I'd rather have the Ableton team make their own native pitch correction system in the DAW as e.g. Propellerheads did a couple of years ago for Reason. I'd rather have an interface that is consistent with the other editing functions in Live! (Melodynes algorithms are good, but I am not very fond of their interface.)
