Hey, anyone reccomendations some good mixing headphones to use with my fast track pro without a hp amp?
What do you use?

Everyone will have their preferences but I have had AKG K240s for over 10 years and they have been brilliant. One driver has a slight buzz in it now so I need a new pair but they sound great (just not loads of low end but easy to compensate for), clear and well built. For the price they ain't all that bad at all.

I can recommend Sennheiser HD600, if you want cheaper headphones try Audio Technica DT-250 these are closed headphones, the Sennheiser are semi open headphones.
I own the Sennheiser HD650 also but i think the 600 are better.

Was lookin at the akg 240, I wanted some semi or fully open phones. Are the lows realistic, ive heard thy translate to speakers well?

The sennys are a lil out of my price range though. Thanks guys I think for now I'll go with the akgs and maybe step it up once I get a headphone amp!

The lows may be a little "lacking" in the AKGK240 BUT to me this is not an issue as I prefer to adjust the lows using my monitors and sub setup then test against the other setups I have. The headphones are for night time and for listning to stereo/phasing and high end detail which they work great for.

There are better on the market (according to opinions) but for their price they are really good performers. Just be aware you need to be using a clean monitoring output (good soundcard etc) because if you are using a cheaper option you will hear the "hiss" from the amp very easily.

I would say Audio Technica ATH-M50. Maybe a little thick sounding, but not too much. And the mids and highs are great.
Second, my Sennheiser HD-600. They seem to lack a little in the lows.
