Push - Hanging Pads and what you can do against it

Hi there,
I really freaked out two days ago, since the hanging-pad-thing made my push unplayable.
I had some theories about what causes this issue... could be:

1) dust between the upper plastic case and the rubber-layer with the pads
2) dust inside the push between the pressure-sensor and the pads
3) initial deformation of the rubber which causes stress on the sensor, since there is no gap between these parts.

So I unscrewed every piece of this beast, cleaned everything and made my little research:
I noticed no dirt at all, but the sensor-layer kind of stuck together with the rubber-part.
Since the PCB was manufactured in fall 2012 it saw quite some temperature-differences (summer was really hot in my little studio-whatever). After rebuilding the issue was GONE!
... might have been 3) in my case: inner stress because of the nature from this rubber.
I will update, if there is any change, but now it works like a charm, my pad-sensitivity is -15!

If you wanna do this with your Push, please be aware of 2 things, that might cause trouble:
1) the sensor layer is glued at the PCB at two points, don't break this!
2) while building together, make sure, that all rubber parts fit perfectly in the plastic case, otherwise you will have small unnoticed gaps between pads and sensors, which can cause some trouble too (I made my experience  )

Have a nice day!

Holy shit I am not going to open my Push. That will turn out nasty for sure.

I do have hanging notes btw.

When you get hanging notes, is it consistently the same notes? Does it affect note and drum rack mode? Does it affect session view?

Sometimes I wonder if it is a software based issue. Or recallibration.

i've never had hanging notes, but relatedly, have had pads triggered by nearby pads. raising the sensitivity did not help

i wonder if it's the same cause for both issues. it disappears the next day and it's been more than a week since last

i keep a folded towel over my Push when not in use

still love this thing!
