have coloured border selection follow scenes? max for live?

I am helping someone with a set and they would like to use number keys on the keyboard to jump to specific scenes to save having to scroll around looking for them
eg. - each song in the set has about 10 scenes, then a blank scene to mark between them, and we would like to be able to map 1,2,3,4 etc to the first scene in each song
when you do this the screen in Live follows and the scene is visible, but Push doesn't follow. So I would like the coloured border to automatically follow
we are already using max for Live to link a Soft Step so I am wondering if there is a way to do this in M4L - anybody know?

I've got no experience with that, but the solution in the following thread looks promissing:

Session_Control is available on Push, but I didn't try to call set_offsets so far...

Yep, as mirrored in the C74 forum, this same code returns [id 0] for [call highlighting_session_component]. Frustrating...

After talking to Ableton support, it turns out that the session ring live.object will only appear on the control surface live.object when Push is in session mode. Once queried, the control surface object will always return the session ring's id when you query its components for SpecialSessionComponent or send it the message "call highlighting_session_component".
No wI just hope there is an observable property!
