I have been using my Bose earphones to get the click into my ears while playing. This setup works really well, and I can hear the ambient sound as well.

But, the cords are a pain to deal with, and I'm trying to figure out a way to do this wirelessly. This is short range and quality is not a huge deal but no latency is important, so it seems like it can be done cheaply. I'd also like to do this for the other players in my group.

Fm radio? Bluetooth? Surely this has been done before.

In-ear monitors? No offense, but why can't you just get Sennheisers or Audio-Technicas like everyone else?

Looking around sweet water and musiciansfriend they all look so expensive - at least $200 and most at least double that. Am I missing something?

On first thought it seems like you could use on of those 12V car audio fm transmitters along with a pocket $5 pocket fm radio. I just wonder if those transmitters incur any latency if they use a ADC.
