Use FCB1010 to select instruments (single tracks)

I'm trying to get a FCB1010 pedal to select a single track in ableton. Now it will select a pedal is MIDI mapped to select a track but it does not unselect the old track even when the preferences are set to exclusive for record arm or to solo.

The goal is so that the FCB1010 pedals act to switch between sounds on different tracks so that when I press a pedal it arms the new one (or solos it, etc) but then unarms the old one simultaneously. Right now I have to click off the old one as well as click on the new one otherwise it will play the sounds for both tracks.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

a friend of mine made me a maxforlive patch that does nearly that, only in my case i wanted to have the option of arming more than one track, so i manually switch off an armed track with the fcb and manually switch others on, using the pedals to navigate so i can play or record on more than one track at once. i guess if you got maxforlive then it can be done with that. i tried programming the fcb to do stuff without mfl using various bits of advice i found on the internet but i always ended up getting frustrated as i found it too confusing. i tried bome's midi translator too but failed there too.

Could you map it to the record arm button and select 'arm exclusive' in the settings?

Personally, I find setting up an instrument rack to switch between sounds is much more versatile

Is this to select different Instruments on different tracks? If so, why not just use an instrument rack and map the range to different pedal values?...... Thats what I do, much easier/cleaner
