Looper and MIDI pedal

Hi,

So I want to set a live-act where I have a microkorg and a percussion pad going to ableton live though the inputs of a soundcard, like this:

Laptop with Ableton << Soundcard << 2 channel Mixer << Microkorg + Percussion Pad

I want to have a MIDI pedal to control Looper and use it a bit like this:

1- record a microkorg loop to a track which goes to the output channel 3/4.
2 - switch track
3 - record a percussion pad loop to a track which goes to the output channel 5/6.

Is there a way of setting this up so I don't need to touch the laptop and only use a MIDI pedal?
Also which cheap MIDI pedal would you recommend?

Thank you so much!

if you want the loops on different channels, you can just use the clip grid
instead of looper.

To contol that though, you might have to get some sort of grid controller,
like launchpad, apc's etc...

if you've got enough controls on your midi pedal,
with a little bit of midi mapping you'll be able to
control the grid too... but you'll need to find a way
of navigating through your clip grid that suits you...

Line 6 FBV Express MK2 also would work well, 4 footswitches, and a switchable volume/expression pedal.
Of course you can remap any of the functions so it isn't fixed on volume.
