An interesting character. Played a key role in the Indonesian struggle for independence, founder of a non-racial railway workers' union (hence the station, I suppose), and killed by the Nazis in 1942. Flirted with Trotskyism for a bit but eventually drifted a way (good man!) and joined the Independent Labour Party.

The metrostation was named after the "henk sneevlietweg". "weg" is dutch for road. Because the road was there before the metrostation.

Jaques Goudstikker is much more interesting.
