Hey.

My Oxygen49 midi keyboard's sustain pedal has reversed polarity, so when it is pressed there is no sustain, and when it's released there is sustain.
I've tried all the options listed here: https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/inv ... ain-pedal/ and none of them work for me.
This pedals polarity used to be set correctly, so I know it's capable.
Is there a way I can just go into the midi CC values in Live and manually change the values of pressed and released to different CC's?

-My pedal has no physical switch
-I've tried the unplugging and plugging in whilst holding or not holding the pedal in different patterns.
-I don't have any software for the keyboard, it just worked automatically with Live
-I've tried Bomes Midi Translator before, and can't seem to understand what I'm doing.

Maybe if somebody has experience with this issue in Bomes Midi Translator they could give me a step by step to get it working?

Hello hello,

I see you tried the manipulation to plug it while holding it. Did you try to plug it, hold it, and then only turn your MIDI Keyboard on? I sort of recall it worked for me once when confronted with this issue.

If you use MIDI Pipe:

- on the right side of the window is your "pipe", on the left side are elements you'd wanna put in it
- pick up your MIDI Input from the left side and drag it to the left. It's the "MIDI In" thing, it's now the first chain of your pipe. Don't forget to select the right MIDI device in the menu that appears under. So you are now reading what's coming from that MIDI Input.
- then you want to invert your damper pedal information received on this MIDI Input. Drag the element "Control Split" in your pipe, so your chain now has two elements. In the "Control Split" tab you can choose the Sustain Pedal which is MIDI CC#64 iirmc. Tick the box "inverse", et voilà!
- now add the last part of your chain, the MIDI Out, and I think it should work...


In the worst case, take your soldering iron and within 15min you will be done!

First you reverse the polarity of the deflector shields and then you modulate the tachyon pulse! Don't cross the streams obviously

The Oxygen 49 manual says that the keyboard will detect the pedal's polarity if the pedal is connected to the keyboard at the time the keyboard is first turned on. Have you tried that?

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies. Sorry it took me a while to respond.

After turning on and off the keyboard a bunch of times and just being frustrated, it magically reversed it's polarity again. Back to normal.

clement.m - I was really happy that you got back to me so quickly, i went to go try your steps and that's when i discovered it was working correctly.... I suppose I'll just refer back to this when the problem happens again, as I recall it going back and forth numerous times.

Glad that it was a simple issue after all! It was the occasion for me to learn how to use MIDI Pipe hé hé.

I am having this issue, and don't think that turning off and on randomly until I get it (which sometimes occasionally works) is a good answer. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I'm very interested as you (believe me), I've been interested and curious about this issue for a long while, like 5 years, but didn't found a good answer.

I'm having this problem right now, and I think I'll dive into the MIDI Bomes thing, and see if I have an answer...

This is not a perfect answer, but in the Arturia piano plugin I am using, clicking on the midi symbol in the top right allows you to edit the midi mapping, and if you click on the sustain pedal at the bottom and reverse the min and max settings, it should work without having to keep turning it on and off.
