I have an APC40 and since 10 minutes Push. Reason for Push was to control a second instance of Live.
Now i see maybe its possible to switch Push between the two instances ? Is possible and
how to ? thx in advance

Doubt that it would be possible to switch any controller between instances.

If you have an instance of Ableton open and connected to a controller then it takes hold of yur MIDI port and another application cannot use that MIDI port. I am pretty sure the ports are not released when selecting between Abletons.

APC40 / PUSH and 2 Instances of Live

THX.. i just wondering, because if i open two instances(not rewired) i can see in both of them the redbox of push.
but only the first opened is responsive. Thought may be there is a switch - so i need a black hand to choosing which
instance shall be controlled... until then i try to pingpong between the two instances, one with push, one with apc40.

EDIT: some hours later:

And thats how it can be done: maybe somebody knows a better way

Power up Push, Start Live Instance 1
uncheck in the midi-preferences all APC entries

Start Live Instance 2 (click away the rewire-warning and the the warning about no access to undo-historie)
uncheck all Push entries
and check the APC entries
Power up APC 40

There you go to pingpong your tracks between APC40/Push on one PC.
maybe one Instance will tell you that the MidiCheck.cfg could not be closed.
then you have to start the procedure again, but once you set it up, it runs very stable.

Limitation is, that only one Instance can search through Places / access the library.
But in case of ready tracks, missing no samples, you can load them complete and play
simultan or make nice transitions. I think you can also sync or rewire it with Midi-Yokes
to let run them synced by let one of them the master, but for yet its not my intention,
because i love to get the CPU near 70 % with one track without bouncing and freezing.

So finally it make sense, that here is a allow multiple instance button.
Maybe that would work with an third Instance also....

Nice workaround, but I guess it wouldn't work with two Push?!

i think it would work with 2 Push , because you get a midi entrie called Ableton Push (Port 2)
this came up by accident, while testing the work around. In one situation Live "thought" there are 2 Push,
so it created a ghost midi entrie called Ableton Push (Port 2).

Someone with two Push (are there people?) should test this. If you can sync both instances of Live, then this would be a great way to make a Push Band happen :D
