I find this feature pretty important.. Reason being, alot of producers are now getting into "sampling / chopping" other people's work, not just in the hip hop scene, the dub step, electro, trap, are all being saturated by short snip bits of sounds chopped from previously released tracks. And yes I know you can use the simpler / instrument rack to modify what length of the sound is played. But it seriously needs to be improved.

The MPC workflow style of "visually seeing" the sampling and chopping, THEN automatically assigning the chopped samples to each of the 4 x 4 pads is amazing. It can all be done by just looking at the MPC screen. You can expand the wave with the modulation knobs to zoom into the wave.

Here's what the Push does so far:
The modulation knobs and the display screen can only scroll through menus, sample names, vst names, change values, etc.

BUT will the push be able to:

• 1. Use the display screen to display the actual waves of the sample (in use for chopping, slicing, assigning each chops to different pads of the drum rack)?
  In other words, 2. can the pixels on the display screen be used to expand in/out of the wave?

• 3. Keeping that feature in mind, after it's been chopped, can part(s) of the chopped samples be put into the different pads of the 4 x 4 drum rack automatically?

I've owned the MPC Studio before, and I gotta say the sampling and chopping & saving the wav file workflow is FAST. Like... REAL FAST. But after getting the push, I got rid of it. Then I realized the PUSH can only display numbers and letters on the Push screen . Before I get an MPC Studio again to use on the side to do the sampling, I wanted to ask you guys, or probably the Akai Rep.

Why Im debating to get the mpc studio or not:

• got the display screen that shows the waves,
  it's portable,
  all the modulation knobs can be used to tweak in and out of the wave,
  the modulate knobs can chop it, save it, and assign it to a drum pad
  all this is done by just looking at the mpc studio hardware screen.
  
  But all in all, IF THE ABLETON PUSH WILL SOON DO THAT, THEN I WON'T GET THE MPC STUDIO

Will the Ableton Push be able to do this on the display screen?

Please don't use the huge font! It is considered shouting and I don't see any reason why you are shouting at us (and no the Abes probably don't read this forum)

To your requested workflow:
This is, as you described it not possible and could only be added in a MKII of Push.

This topic comes up quite often round here so hopefully at some point we will get something like this. I know there are TONS of people who would really like this feature on their Push, including me.

I'm not really getting why seeing a waveform on your push character screen is so important when you, more than likely, have a MASSIVE monitor right in front of it.

yea i just got home and took a look at the push screen..

looks like the whole grid can be turned on. the segments where only the letters are displayed are darker. the sections that are turned off are barely seen unless looked up close. i wonder if those can light up..
