I know Sylenth and Massive always get mentioned as being the Best soft synths, but what about Reasons Thor and Combinator?? Those things produce unbelievable sounds! The Refills, which some are free, are awesome!! I never hear these mentioned, and to top it off, they Rewire into LIVE!!

Many people here look down on reason, as a toy. I personally get a lot of results and inspiration out of reason synthesis.

And with rack extensions, making instruments come and go like revolving swingers, just call it the Menudo of boy band daw's....

But seriously, maybe I don't have highbrow soft synth taste, but Reason just always seemed to work for me, been going since ver1

Reason ReWired into Ableton is a killer combination. Used to be my main setup but I fell out of upgrading Reason around v. 4.

No such thing as a bad synth in all honesty.

The user interface on all Logic instruments are pretty bad, it has to be said.

Is Combinator a synth? I thought it was more of a container, like Native Instrument's Kore, or Korg's combi

I've only used the iPad version of Thor, but it's pretty sweet. Huge range of sounds. With all the patching the original Reason version lets you do, I can't imagine it not being pretty awesome.

Combinator enables you to "combine tons of synths or effects to create and use as one instrument.. The possibilities are endless, and the sounds created from a combinator are, can be, HUGE!!
