Which Windows 7 services safe to stop?

I chucked a post here about using AlacrityPC to perform a fast 'one click' profile to shut down all non-essential services and programs.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=199763

It's working great for me BUT I'm not really sure (apart from lots of trial and error) which services some of you guys have found to be safe to close. I'd like to shut as many as possible in Windows 7 Ultimate.

Any suggestions :?:

For security purposes the first thing that I do is turn off the network adapter. If the adapter is off, you don't need a firewall so that service can be stopped. Since you can't go on the network you can only get a virus through physical media like a usb memory stick. If you have a second machine with A/V scan the media before putting it in the DAW or do all your file copying before disabling services. This means you can turn of active protection in your A/V software. You can also turn off the Action Center center since it will just annoy you.

I totally second his advice. Highly recommended especially if your using Dual software combination like Serato & Ableton Live (The Bridge) together!! ;) Good stuff!! btw.

Nice advice thanks guys. The blackviper stuff is excellent. I've created a really useful profile for Win7 now using AlacrityPC which shuts down loads of stuff including the stuff you've recommended above with one click.

My Ableton and keyboards etc are working really well now on what is a very modest laptop.
