how to manage live-song-transitions in Live 8?

Hello together,
I now want to start to use Live 8 live (instead of using it only in home studio) and ask myself how can you manage song-transitions live.
I think of using an 8 track session-view with some lines of clips per song and an empty arrangement view.
But there are some components which are song depended:
- track-volumes
- send-levels per track
- plugin-parameters (e.g. filter-cutoff for; e.g. send-fx; insert-fx)
- plugin-presets (e.g. send-fx; insert-fx)
- song-tempo
(perhaps even some more kind of components than in the list above)
When starting a new song there exists the values of the end of last song but now I need the initial values for the new song. How can you mange this "problem" in Live 8?
Are there e.g. possibilities to set an automation absolutely within a clip so the value exist after exiting these "initializing-clip"?
I will use an APC 40. But I hope that I don't need to manually adjust all these parameters/values every song-start to their specific values.
Perhaps there are already discussions or tutorials, ... and you can write the link.
