Isolating partials in FM synthesis with Operator

I've been playing around with the nice chime sounds in operator by isolating a single waveform partial or dragging the mouse to bring up a few more bars.

I'm wondering if there are any digital hardware synths that give you that kind of detailed control of partials in waveform experimentation (FM or otherwise).

Thanks!

I would like to know too.

Zebra is pretty good in this department too but I don't know about any hardware synths.

-Native Instruments Absynth 5.
-Camel Audio Alchemy (Additive synthesis engine).

There might be more, but i can't think of any except the above mentioned Zebra 2.

The problem with Alchemy is that you can't automate the partial's level. Does anyone know of a synth that offers this option?
Does zebra offer this?

You can with Zebra. Every Oscillator has an array of wave shapes & you can assign these, or link them to an LFO or multi-stage envelope. But as CP points out, that's strictly-speaking off topic

Awesome synth. Great keybed too.

Nice! That fits the bill!

Interestingly, I went on ebay and found a K5000W for a lot less than the other k5000s's but I spent a few minutes looking for a macro box controller came back... And it was SOLD!! Hahaha! Fuck my life.

Anyway, great recommendation, I'll keep an eye out for another one less than $600.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Tom

True, but you can set different partials per breakpoint (of which you can have a whole lot per source). Set 'stretch' to zero on the source page, and automate or modulate the 'start' parameter.

With Zebra you can have 16 different waves per oscillator and morph between those.
