Hi folks. So I'm not sure whats going on here. I go to turn on my Push today, and find that the lights are acting all strange on me. In synth mode and drum mode, 4 lights are orange, instead of the usual pink, white, or blue. two of them are flashing like they're having a seizure. and 4 others ones are completely unlit. in the other tracks, there's similar problems with different lights. they arent triggering anything in Live, just acting crazy. I was messing around with user mode and the heartbeat level meter hack, but, as far as I can see, I changed everything back.

what the hell is going on???

okay, so a bit of an update on the situation:

I've found that it has something to do with my MIDI mappings. I delete them all, and the problem goes away. so I go through and find which ones are conflicting, but find the answer is not so cut and dry. the pad lights only go back to normal when I delete some group of mappings that I haven't determined exactly. but they're all just mappings using my APC40's track selector and activator buttons. pretty straightforward i thought.

so weird thing: I press the track selector buttons on my APC40, which I have mapped to things, one at time. each turns a particular pad's light on my Push on and off. some of those track selector buttons make that pad flash like crazy, different colors for each. others just turn the pad's light on and off. big wtf

I see that the Push's pads send on MIDI channel 16, but these APC MIDI mappings I have all send on channels 1-6 or so. so why are they conflicting, and why are they conflicting in such erratic ways? most of all, what am I supposed to do about this silliness?

I would REEEEEAAAALLY appreciate some help on this one folks!

for any bereaved bastard that has this same problem, I found the fix:

Preferences - MIDI sync - output for Push Live mode - turn OFF remote

not entirely sure why this happened. but I got the vague inkling that stuff was being sent to the Push that conflicted with what it was doing. sure was. yay, back to clean, clear pad screens!

I've not had this issue but thanks for reporting.
