The occasional freezes of Push

Brand new unit, it will freeze rather randomly when connected to a powered USB hub, and the only fix is to reboot it.
Connections are as follows: Push into Belkin USB-hub into MBP late-13

Anybody with similar problem and a better fix?)

Just to rule out anything with the hub have you just tested it connected directly to the PC?

Just FYI on a Win7 PC I have Push connected to a 10 port powered hub and no issues.

yeah, no problems when connected directly, only when through the hub.
so, contrary to the popular belief - belkin usb hub, even powered, is utter shite

have you tried changing the port the hub is plugged into?

I get freezes a lot with the cable directly plugged into my macbook. Sometimes the pads will still light up in response, but hitting them will do nothing. Other times it will sort of freeze in whatever state it was in and will not change or respond to direct or through ableton changes. If I restart it it will usually work again for anywhere from 5 seconds to as long as I'm working...

A port issue, apparently

I also get freezes with Push directly connected to my MacBook but I only noticed this with Live 9.1, before that it seemed to work fine.

Maybe I'll try running it with an earlier version again just to confirm that's the case.

Switching Push off and on will clear the problem for a while.

glad it helped...

USB 3 can transfer more power, but USB 2.0 can have issues if spread too thin with too many USB powered devices plugged into the same port. maybe this is what was causing your grief.

unfortunately, my joy was premature and the problem persists.
different hubs, different ports, same story.
guys, let's file some support tickets - it's no good

I've been having problems as well and so far Im still trying to isolate and recreate the problem. I've been getting freezes and a wonky unresponsive Push when also using a Novation Launch Control/iConnectmidi2+ in my setup. I think it could be a bad or overloaded USB hub. Im on 9.1 and OSX ML I'll keep experimenting and report back. Is anyone else having any issues?

Don't forget to try a different USB cable if you haven't already. Also try plugging your power supply for the push into a different outlet if available. Some power strips will limit the current as well so I guess just try to see if it's a power issue. (flaky power can cause these kinds of problems too)

Good luck.

Well out of no where I have started to see the occasional lockup of Push too :(

Last night wile doing sound mixing for a film I had the PC running for several hours but wasn't using Push at all, just in arrangement.

When I looked over I noticed the LCD was blank but illuminated so I tried to switch to a MIDI track and it didn't do anything at all. I power cycled Push and it came good. This happened 2 times last night and nothing in my setup has changed.

Not about to complain yet without looking into it but I have a feeling something may be awry with the latest 9.1.

So I tried a different arrangement with my devices and usb hub and it seems to have fixed the problem. So far so good!
