I'm currently running Live 8 Suite. I'd like to upgrade to 9 Standard as I'm unsure if I actually need the suite but don't want to lose all the suite content for 8 for now, just in case.

Will I still be able to use full Live 8 Suite after installing 9 Standard? Not at the same time of course.

Yeah. In the 9 Browser, 9 material is the default for everything, and in the lower 'Places' section of the browser, everything from 8 will be there untouched for your browsing pleasures.

Then you'll still be able to open Live 8 without issue.

Or open anything you already own from Suite, in 9 Standard as long as it is already installed.

Plus you keep your 8 Suite devices (Analog, Operator, etc). You just don't get to download the new Suite 9 material.

Still, on their site, if you go to 'Packs' while logged in, there will be a lot of material that you can download. There is even a filter option for 'My Packs'.

What I'd do is look up an image search for the Live 9 browser and see if you can spot any images with the 8 Library intact on there. It'll also give you a glimpse of the browser for seeing if you'll be a fan or not haha (be warned, when you first Open 9, it'll take a lot of time scanning your 'Places'. Make sure you have time set aside for your computer to crunch away at it

Pretty sweet if from within 9 Standard I'll still have access to all of 8 Suite, especially instruments. In any case, as long as I can still open 8 with everything there I'm happy.

You don't loose your instruments from the live8 suite, operator, Tension, collision, analogue... or the drum maschine pack. Because they have all a separate license number, take a look into your ableton account. Last year I went from live 8 suite to live 9 standard too and all my instruments and packs from live 8 suite are now integrated into my live 9 standard. The only thing I dont have now, is M4L and this big orchestra thing, but I dont have a use for it.
