Audio Export (all tracks) : external instruments are silent

Hi there,

Audio export of all tracks give me silent files for all my external instruments (whether they're in drum rack or not).
I also have a pair of audio tracks with no clip and monitoring activated to monitor some machines with onboard sequencer. They're silent too (I mean the corresponding audio file, after export, is silent).

On the other hand, an export of only the master output is ok. No track missing there.

Weird and frustrating.
What's the point of external instruments if I need to convert them into audio tracks before rendering ?
What the point of rendering individual tracks if I need to record audio tracks before rendering ?

Your thoughts, advices and comments are appreciated,
Pierre

Thanks,
But I'm not familiar with the Virus TI plugin. And I'm not sure to understand how this topic is related to mine.
I know how to setup an external instrument track. With just a single external instrument track in my live set, I can render it in realtime no problem.
But in my setup, I got more than just one track with an external instrument. And there's something that prevent this audio export to work with everything but instrument plugins tracks.

So far, I see two possible causes :
1/ empty audio tracks I use to monitor gear with builtin sequencer.
2/ a complex drum rack I've built to control an MFB-522.

I've tried several setups this afternoon.
I got something working, but it's not as versatile as I'd expect it to be.
I've swapped several external instruments and audio tracks with effects returns tracks.
Now the audio export give me what I want. But I'm not able to freeze or record those return tracks…
I'm not totally satisfied. The story continues.

Yes.

Finally, after several tests in different configurations, I think a single audio track with activated monitoring (monitor to "in") is enough to make all external instruments exported tracks silent.
