Ableton Push connectivity issues

I got the Push about 3 weeks ago. Nothing was going wrong until today when I plugged it in, it would not connect to Live. It was in some sort of demo mode with the text across the LED saying Play, Perform etc. I noticed yesterday that the USB port was slightly cockeyed, but it was still connecting so I thought maybe that's how it always was but I just never noticed. Everything else with it is fine, except that all of a sudden I can't connect. I was going to bring it to Guitar Center to check it out, but they're closed, and I can't find anything online about Push connection issues. I'll post a pic of the cockeyed USB port if that helps. I'm not sure what the problem is considering that it was connecting fine yesterday but now I think it's because of this port. I'm not sure what's making it cockeyed but I feel like that's why it's not connecting. Any help is appreciated. Edit: Here are the pics of the USB port. http://imgur.com/a/v4d0F

I meant to get back to you on this one and forgot, I was in another thread talking about DAW's that poop (don't ask), not sure where you stand now.

A couple things you can try. While the USB cable is plugged in, Push powered on, and Abelton is running; Try with very gentle pressure right at the USB port holding the USB cable to the left for at least 10 seconds, then the right, up, and down. If while pushing the cable in one of those directions it connects momentarily then you probably have a bad or broken solder joint where the USB port connects to the circuit board. For someone experienced with soldering this would be an easy fix, though I'm sure taking it apart would void any warranty so it's not suggested if you are in warranty still (unless that's your thing like me and you would rather just fix things on your own).

If nothing happens when you do this then you could have a multitude of problems and you will need an understanding of electronics and at least a multimeter minimum to fix it.
One other suggestion if you do have a multimeter test the output of the power adapter and make sure you are getting the correct DC output. If something in the AC/DC conversion circuit has gone bad such at a diode in the rectifier you could be getting a partial pulsed DC output that could be enough to power it but not the correct type of constant DC you'd need for the digital parts of the Push.

Let me know what happens and I'll try and give you some advice (if you're still dealing with this). I'm an Electronics Tech (working on my EE right now) and I've done authorized repair work as a job in the past for Korg, Roland, AKAI, Yamaha, and many others (I don't suggest it unless you love being extremely poor).

hey there Airyck!

As a first step, I would recommend that you go to Live > Preferences > Control Surfaces and where you see the entry for Push, set this to "None" and then back to Push.

This should reload the script!

If this doesn't work, try uninstalling and re-installing Live.

Let me know which solution works for you!
