controlling external hardware success!

I don't really have a question, just a comment. I watched the Ableton videos about controlling hardware synths and thought, hmmm, seems a bit complicated. But, I have to say, it works brilliantly. I have my microKorg, Moog Sub Phatty, and Teenage Engineering OP-1 all setup as external instruments and can control parameters with the 8CC max for live device. Combine this with the scales mode on Push, and I've never had so many ideas before. Live is awesome on it's own, but this newfound level of control and integration is very inspirational to say the least. I'm planning on maybe getting a Minitaur and maybe the Volcas soon (or maybe Waldorf Rocket-can't decide). Any suggestions or opinions on hardware that plays nice with Live as an external instrument? The OP-1 is kind of quirky and the midi CC implementation is kind of weird but it does make some interesting noises when you don't really know what parameters you are actually controlling. Anyway, just thought I'd write something positive for today. Now if I could just commit and actually finish a track, I'd be in business.

Are you saying you only have access to 8 parameters on your synths and sometimes don't even know which they are? How is this a success?!
Is banking of midi CCs not possible?

I was saying the OP-1 is a little fiddly as far as midi CC is concerned, that's all. And yes there are 8 CCs but of course I know what they are. You label them in the macros.....
What's your problem?

Why should I have a problem?
I'm just surprised, that while everyone wants all their vsts mapped to completion, it's all the sudden enough to only have 8 parameters for a hardware synth.
I don't have one, so I don't care, but does the External Instrument device not have a configure button?

Because its not setup that way. This was supposed to be a positive thread. But I forgot, I'm on the Ableton forum. If you don't use this feature and don't care about it, don't post a comment. Simple as that.

What? You don't have a problem Tom? Everyone needs a problem, you should get one

Don't let Tom bring you down, He is German after all and I think abruptness is a requirement. Thanks for sharing your experience.
BTW Tom, emoticons may assist in your perceved rude comments being more positiive:

Is banking of midi CCs not possible? Just curious because I don't have any hardware nor experience in this area but am interested to know
Fixed!

Dude, just don't! You probably think your cute with your stereotypes, but you're not.
And honestly espousing them in public makes you look like a bigot.
My behaviour, if you like it or not, has nothing to do with my nationality and is all my own.
Besides, I just asked the question how having 8 controllable parameters is all the sudden a big achievement. And if it is really a limitation in Live (as I said I don't have experience with incorporating external synths into Live), then you could have just pointed that out instead of going directly into personal attack mode.
I just don't understand why it should not work with external gear the same as it does with vst's...

Should I explain to you how the internet works?
It's easy: as soon as you post anything on the internet you lose all control over it. So whatever you may wish this thread to be, has no influence on me, and I can post a comment on anything I like. Just as I have to except that a total stranger from Georgia is a dick to me, just because I asked a simple question. Simple as that innit?!

Ah Tom, never wanting to stray from your abruptness. And never shy to comment on subjects that really don't have your interests in mind:
I don't have one, so I don't care,
Certainly shows....
Should I explain to you how the internet works?
Please do. I'm dying to know.

Why would have a subject my interest in mind? There is something wrong with your sentence

And it's amazing how well you think you know me...
Have we met?!

I just did

It just sucks that 90% of the time I try to post having a good experience with Live (because believe me, I've had plenty of bad ones too), I have to read some snarky comment. But you're right, its the internet. I was asking for it. And Henke actually designed the max for live device so take your questions to him. I was just happy. Next time, I'll just email Ableton. They usually appreciate it. Hell, they've even given me free stuff just for being a loyal, happy customer. You'd be amazed at what being nice and friendly will get you.
