Notepad

Could really use a notepad in Ableton, one that was always on screen and not just a mouse over feature.

One would fit one at the bottom of the browser.

Or maybe add another box next to the info view.

There's certainly room for a solution there somewhere.

I hope you consider this. Sometimes simple things go a long ways!

IMO the notepad feature in Ableton works great. Here are some alternatives for you.

How about this: add the ability to have the current note system "Always On" so that you didn't have to hover the mouse over a section to see your notes. It would act as a sort of universal note, rather than a note for a specific section. Maybe you could simply add a pin button which you toggle on or off, and when toggled "on" the note would stay "pinned" so that it's contents were always on display.

^ The "Pin" feature I mention here could even work in conjunction with other notes. In other words, you could have one note pinned so that it was always on, but if you hover over another section the note for that section would show instead.

Example:

You have one note for the master section, and then a note for each track. You keep the master section note pinned because it has all your main ideas, and then when you hover the mouse over the each of the track sections it will instead show the note for that section. Then when you move the mouse away the pinned note from the master section shows again, because it is pinned.
