Ableton Forum

I was wondering if there was a way to go full screen with both monitors in a dual monitor setup? I want to have the session view on one screen and the arrangement view on the other and I want them both to be full screen (as in no menu bar at the top of the screen). As it stands now only the built in display on my macbook goes true full screen and the external display does not. I know I can resize it to take up the whole display, but the menu bar always stays at the top. I want to only see ableton on both displays, is there any way to do this?

No... unfortunately there's not going to be anyway to do that bro, sorry. Unless you want to get another Ableton, which is hella unnecessary but could be hella fun at the same time

First of: If you can install your licence on two computers, I don't see how it would be disallowed to run two instances on one computer at the same time. That said: This would be a very bad approach to go about this, as you would work on the same set in two different instances. If it works at all, I'd still imagine this to be a recipe for disaster.

I thought Live 9.1 introduces support for two windows. Why would you have to make it full screen to improve your workflow? I'm simply curious.

It looks ugly and reduces screen real estate.

I wish the whole UI would be more modular. So on two screens you only have once the transport controlls, or you only have the Mixer you put on the Arrangement window (without the unnecessary titel bar!). Or that small view on the top of the Arrangement that lets you see your whole set and where you are at - I'd like to have that too in my Session view.

And most of all I would like that if I work with two windows on one screen, and the Arrangement is full screen and the Session just the mixer, that clicking with the mouse into the Arrangement doesn't hide the Mixer window behind the Arrangement.

One can dream I guess...

I just put that because on here you never know the experience level of the OP.
Besides I agree, running two instances side by side, can be interesting, you just shouldn't try to work on the same set in both.
