strange problem with keyboard not working in live

I have a strange problem,
every once in a while, mostly when I have been working in a live set, and load a different set, my computer keyboard stops working, space bar doesn't start stop live, del key doesn't delete clips... etc...
I then select options then close and all is fine, has anyone else experianced this. I had it happen in 4.11 and 4.12

running WINXP Pro
1GB RAM
on Sony Vaio Zw1A laptop 1.7GHZ Centrino
