Quick USB hub question

I'd like to get a USB hub so I can use my Push and SoftStep on one port and my USB audio interface on another port. Does the hub have to be powered or can I use any non-powered hub? Does it depend on if the Push is plugged into AC power? Thanks very much.

Get a powered hub. These devices require the extra power. Unpowered hubs are really just for low-power devices, like mice and keyboards.

You don't NEED a powered hub for them to work if they are plugged in too, but you might as well get a powered hub since they don't cost much more. Way less hassles I've found, big fan of the Plugable brand of USB hubs myself.

If the SoftStep has an AC input too, I guess that's true, but you'd probably end up with 2+ AC adapters plugged into the wall as opposed to just the one.

Personally, I ditched the Push adapter after five minutes - I found the pads way too bright when the Push was plugged in.

No - sorry I wasn't clear. The SoftStep is bus powered. I just wanted to know if it was going to be too much for one hub to power the LEDs on both.
