My audio interface is the RME Fireface 800, I've got 16 channels piped out through adat into an Apogee DA16X.

I've been hearing little pops when I enter data using the push, sometimes even turning an encoder.

Similar sound to having the buffer/latency too low but its just one little click/pop when touching the pads/encoders on the push.

It does occasionally happen when adding a midi track by way of the mouse/key commands but that is not as easy to recreate. It literally happens with every use of the Push.

Has anyone encountered this?

sometimes with an apc40/20 combo...
but as you said, it's not that easy to reproduce.
It was just there sometimes, and sometimes not.
then occasionally, it just disapeared. no idea what it was.

it turned out to indeed be a buffer setting.

I've just been under the impression that a decent macbook pro and RME interface should have rock solid stability. I guess thats what rock solid stability means.. you get the click or pop and Live doesn't crash.

How the F%C$ can we get ultra low latency?

My ideal setup would be to use ableton as a 24 channel insert fx unit.. without lower latency that just won't happen. Even reading up on the UA Apollo thunderbolt devices people are saying that it might not be much better
