give me the last beat (1, 4, 16, 32) i jammed without record

hey, cubase got that great feature that would be really cool also in ableton, a background recorder for a maximum of lets say the last 32 beats where you can just jam around and in a moment when you got a really special phrase you would not need to push record and try to get it line that again, but instead say "give me the last 4, or 16 beats of jamming as mididata"
